IMPORTANT EHV NOTICE FOR OUR CLIENTS AND ALL HORSE OWNERS
There is a nationwide outbreak of Equine Herpesvirus Myeloencephalopathy (EHM) stemming from an event in Texas, but official Arizona reports do not confirm a current outbreak in Arizona. However, due to the nationwide spread and potential exposure from travel, Arizona veterinary groups are advising local horse owners to be vigilant, practice biosecurity measures, and monitor their horses closely.

We will be closed for the remainder of the year until further notice.

What To Do
-
Nationwide outbreak: A significant outbreak of EHM is spreading among horses, originating from the Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) World Finalsin the Waco, Texas area, reports Equine Disease Communication Center and Equine Disease Communication Center.

-
No confirmed Arizona outbreak: As of the latest updates, there are no reports of a specific EHV-1 outbreak originating within Arizona.

-
Increased local vigilance: Despite the lack of a confirmed Arizona outbreak, local veterinary services are urging vigilance due to the risk of exposure from horses that have traveled from the affected event circuits.

-
Biosecurity recommendations: Horse owners in Arizona are advised to take precautions, such as not sharing equipment, thoroughly disinfecting trailers, and monitoring their horses for symptoms, according to Urban Livestock & Equine Veterinary Services.

-
Consult a vet: If your horse has a history of travel or shows worsening symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately, advises Urban Livestock & Equine Veterinary Services.
